SECME | Diversity in STEM education

     Similar to many clubs, SECME has a middle-school and high-school level so students from all grade levels can participate! The middle school branch of the organization has been active for only a few years and the high school level became active in the 2014-2015 academic school years! In terms of member set-up, what makes Mater SECME stand out from other clubs? We consider ourselves a "Big Brother, Little Brother/ Big Sister, Little Sister" club. What's that? Well, it's when high school students serve as mentors, friends, guides, and examples to middle school students. Both levels of Mater SECME work together throughout the year as one big team, ready to succeed!

     Throughout the year, Mater SECME has many events! We offer competitions in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics categories. These competitive events range from solo divisions to teams and it's a great way to give members opportunities to receive recognition, scholarships, and prizes for their hard work and dedication! Aside from this we also do community service, such as setting up donation booths and attending walks-which is a wonderful way to give back to the community and give members volunteer hours! In addition, we hold meetings just about every other week, host workshops, have parties and luncheons, attend field trips, sell merchandise, have officer elections, and much more! We encourage everyone to join us on the path of fun and success!
